Spicy Chicken Masala Curry

Spicy Chicken Masala Curry is one of such favorite receipe that I cook often and is enjoyed by my family and friends. This chicken curry recipe is not a fancy one, very simple, straightforward and quick to make.

       There are endless variations to the chicken curry and today's chicken curry is prepared with the same basic ingredients as any normal chicken curry, the only other major ingredients is cashewnut paste. The spice level of the curry is due to the use of black pepper and chilli powder. This curry is totally not-too-rice, warm and spicy flavor.



Ingredients :

Chicken : 500 gms, washed and cut into medium size pieces,
Potato : 2, big, chunk pieces.
Onion : 3, big, finely chopped
Tomato : 1, big, finely chopped
Ginger Paste : 1 tsp.
Garlic Paste : 11/2 tsp.
Curd : 3 tbsp.
Roasted Cumin-Coriander Powder : 11/2 tsp.
Black Pepper Powder : 3/4 tsp. (adjust your spice level)
Turmeric Powder : 1/4 tsp.
Red Chilli Power : 1 tsp.
Sugar : 1/4 tsp.
Salt to taste

Make a paste -

Cashewnut : 5-7
Milk : 4-5 tbsp.

Dry Roast and make a fine powder -

Cinnamon : 1"
Cloves : 2-3
Corianger leaves for garnishing

Method :

Marinate chicken pieces with curd, chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste and saltm for 1 hours.


While the chicken pieces is marinating, make a paste of cashew and milk. Keep aside.

Dry roast cinnamon, and cloves for 2-3 minutes and make powder of them. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a kadai, add the marinated chicken and cook in medium flame for 15 minutes.Add the chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, cashewnuts paste and ground powder of cinnamon, cloves and mix well .

Now add 1 cup of warm water for more gravy consistency. Cook till chicken pieces are soft and you get the desired

Finnally, garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
