Poori Aloo Masala (Fried Bread With Potato Masala)

This is one of the traditional breakfast menu that can be prepared in weekand morning. It is also great to serve as a snack or any other meal. Poori with potato masala  is a tasty and simple dish prepared with  little mashed potatoes, often served with deep fried Indian bread called Poori.  Pooris are golden brown, Indian bread – deep fried till puffed and crisp at edges. I guess potato is an universal favourite liked by almost everybody and I am no exception to it.My mother has been making this aloo masala side dish for poori, since our childhood. We just used to relish it every time she prepared it.

Poori

Fried bread called Poori is very famous in India where it is enjoyed at all meal times by all age groups equally.

Ingredients :

Wheat flour - 1 cup
Maida - 1/2 cup
Salt as per taste
Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil for frying

Method :

Mix wheat flour, salt, black pepper powder and knead a dough. The dough should not be too hard or too soft.

Take a very small portion of this dough and roll it into small chapati.

Gently and carefully slide this poori in frying pan and the oil should be hot.

Light handed-ly keep on pressing the sides of poori  so that it puffs up.

Toss it and cook it on slow flame till the surface appears light brown.
