If you love khichdi, then Dalia Moong Khichdi is the best solution. Dalia is full of taste, flavour and health. The khichdi is very nutricious as it is full of fiber and wellness of broken wheat as well as moong dal. It is a very light meal and is very easy to prepare.
Ingredients :
Dalia - 1 cup
Moong Dal - 1/2 cup
Mixed vegetables (carrots,french beans,cauliflower) - 1 cup, chopped
Green peas - 1/2 cup
Green Chilli - 1, slited
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ghee to taste
Preparation :
In a kadai, dry roast moong dal. Then wash it and keep aside.
Heat the kadai with oil. Add jeera, red whole chilli. When they crackle add mixed vegetables and green peas. Cook for 5 mins in low flame.
Then add ginger-garlic paste. Mix well and keep stirring for 3-4 minutes on medium heat.
Put dalia and moong dal and stir very well with the vegetables.
Take a pressure cooker. Put the mixture into the pressure cooker and pour 3-4 cups of water. Add turmeric powder and salt. Place the lid and put the pressure cooker on the gas oven. Wait for two whistle and after that keep the gas flame low for 5 minutes. Put off the gas and wait for sometime. Open the lid.
Put ghee and sprinkle garam masala powder over the preparation.
Serve hot with roasted papad and chutney.
