Masala poori is a variation of poori. Spices are used in the dough which gives the poori a unique taste and flavour. Masala Pooris can be served as snack with Chai or as a meal with curry, subzi or pickle.
Preparation :
Ingredients for Masala Poori :
whole wheat flour - 2 cups.
salt - 1/4 tsp.
Tuemeric powder - 1 tsp.
coriander powder - 1 tsp.
cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
water to form dough.
oil for deep frying.

Preparation :
Mix flour, salt, spice powders, two tsp oil.
Add water little by little and form a tight dough ball. Keep aside for 20 minutes.
Make small lime size balls.

Cooking Method:
1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. It should be on medium hot once it is heated well.
Roll each ball into a round of about 3".
2. Put the round carefully in the hot oil. splash some hot oil over the top of puff up poori with steam. poori and press it with a skimmer. It will puff up. Fry for 2-3 seconds.
3. Turn over the puri with skimmer, rub the top of the poori with skimmer, it helps
4. Cook till both sides are light brown of each poori, take the poori out and place it on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
